하나금융그룹, 선제적인 원화 스테이블코인 파트너십 구축 및 글로벌 디지털자산 사업자들과 협업 확대! Hana Financial Group establishes proactive KRW stablecoin partnership and expands collaboration with global digital asset operators!

 하나금융그룹(회장 함영주)은 디지털자산 생태계 선도를 위해 원화 스테이블코인 파트너십을 구축하고 글로벌 디지털자산 사업자들과 협업을 확대한다고 3월 5일 밝혔다. 하나카드는 글로벌 스테이블코인 USDC 발행사인 서클(Circle) 계열사 및 글로벌 디지털자산 사업자 크립토닷컴(Crypto.com)과 협력해 방한 외국인을 대상으로 국내 결제 마케팅을 본격 추진한다.

이번 마케팅의 일환으로 크립토닷컴 비자 카드를 보유하거나 USDC 충전 이력이 있는 외국인이 국내 가맹점에서 결제 시 결제금액의 5%를 크립토닷컴 네이티브 토큰 CRO로 캐시백 해주는 이벤트를 진행한다. 이를 통해 디지털자산 결제 경험을 제공하고 국내 주요 가맹점의 새로운 결제 수요 창출을 도모한다. 또한, 국내 카드 결제 인프라 내 디지털자산 연계 결제의 실효성과 수요를 점검하고, 글로벌 디지털 금융 생태계와 연계를 강화해 구체적인 디지털 혁신 전략을 추진할 계획이다.

하나카드는 지난해 12월 서클과 전략적 업무협약(MOU)을 체결했으며, 이를 기반으로 USDC 결제 및 매입 활성화를 위한 마케팅 활동도 전개 중이다. 앞으로 하나금융그룹은 그룹 차원의 협력을 통해 글로벌 디지털자산 생태계와 국내 결제 인프라 간 연계를 지속 확대해 나갈 예정이다.

또한, 하나금융그룹은 글로벌 디지털자산 수탁 사업자인 비트고(BitGo)와 공동 설립한 비트고코리아의 디지털자산 수탁업 인허가를 준비하는 등 글로벌 사업자와의 협력 관계를 지속 확대 중이다.

이번 프로젝트는 스테이블코인 기반 결제 활용 가능성을 실증하고 글로벌 디지털자산 사업자와 협력 범위를 넓히는 과정으로, 하나금융그룹은 향후 제도화 이후 유통과 사용 전 과정을 고려한 다양한 활용 사례 발굴을 계속 추진할 계획이다.

Hana Financial Group(Chairman Ham Young-joo) announced on March 5 that it is leading the digital asset ecosystem by establishing a proactive Korean won stablecoin partnership and expanding collaboration with global digital asset operators. Hana Card, leveraging the group’s global network, is working with Circle Internet Group, Inc. (NYSE: CRCL), the issuer of the global stablecoin USDC, and global digital asset company Crypto.com to actively promote domestic payment marketing targeting foreign visitors to Korea starting this month.

As part of this joint marketing effort, foreign customers holding Crypto.com Visa cards with USDC balance or charging history will receive 5% cashback in Crypto.com’s native CRO token when making payments at domestic merchants. This aims to provide digital asset payment experiences and create new payment demand centered on key domestic merchants. Furthermore, Hana Card plans to assess the effectiveness and demand for digital asset-linked payments within the domestic card payment infrastructure and concretize digital innovation strategies through linkage with the global digital financial ecosystem.

Hana Card signed a strategic memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Circle in December last year and is promoting marketing activities to activate USDC payment and acquisition based on the agreement. Moving forward, Hana Financial Group plans to continuously expand connections between the global digital asset ecosystem and domestic payment infrastructure through group-wide collaboration.

In addition, Hana Financial Group is broadening cooperation with global operators by preparing digital asset custody licensing for BitGo Korea, a joint venture with BitGo, a global digital asset custody provider listed on the New York Stock Exchange.

This project demonstrates the practical use potential of stablecoin-based payments and expands cooperation scope with global digital asset companies. Hana Financial Group will continue to actively develop diverse use cases considering the entire process from institutionalization to distribution and usage of stablecoins.
