도시바(Toshiba)는 자동차 장비용 태양광 출력 포토커플러 ‘TLX9920’을 솔리드 스테이트 릴레이(SSR)용 SO6L 패키지로 출시했다고 3월 19일 밝혔다. 이번 제품은 얇고 긴 8mm 이상의 연면거리를 제공해 국제표준 IEC 60664-12의 안전 요구사항을 충족하며, 5000Vrms의 높은 절연전압을 구현한다.
최근 자동차 장비에 대한 수명이 긴 릴레이 유닛 수요 증가와 함께 기계식 릴레이 대신 SSR 사용이 확대되고 있으며, TLX9920은 SSR의 고전압 파워 MOSFET 게이트 드라이버로 최적화되어 고전압·고전류 스위칭을 가능하게 한다. SSR은 물리적 접점이 없어 접점 마모 및 정기 유지보수 부담을 줄여 신뢰성을 크게 향상시킨다.
또한 TLX9920은 자동차 전자부품 신뢰성 표준인 AEC-Q101을 충족하며, 자동차 장비뿐 아니라 에너지 저장 시스템(ESS)과 산업용 전력 장비 등 다양한 고전압 스위칭 환경에 적용 가능하다.

Toshiba Electronic Devices & Storage Corporation announced on March 19 the release of the TLX9920 photovoltaic output photocoupler for automotive equipment, designed for solid-state relays (SSR) and packaged in a slim, long SO6L form factor. The product offers a creepage distance exceeding 8mm, meeting the safety requirements of the international standard IEC 60664-12, and achieves a high insulating voltage of 5000 Vrms.
With increasing demand for longer-lasting relay units in automotive applications, SSR usage is expanding as a replacement for mechanical relays. The TLX9920 is optimized as a gate driver for high-voltage power MOSFETs used in SSRs, enabling high-voltage, high-current switching that is difficult to achieve with traditional photorelays. Unlike mechanical relays, SSRs do not possess physical contacts, thereby eliminating contact wear and reducing periodic maintenance, significantly enhancing reliability.
Additionally, the TLX9920 complies with the automotive electronic component reliability standard AEC-Q101. Beyond automotive equipment, it is suitable for various high-voltage switching applications including energy storage systems (ESS) and industrial power equipment.
