The 2026 Korea International Streaming Festival (KISF 2026) will be held from June 18 to 21 at the Busan Cinema Center. As Korea’s largest and sole global streaming platform festival, it aims to showcase and integrate the latest trends, media technologies, and cultural content on a global scale. This year’s official poster, themed ‘Wave of Empathy,’ visually expresses how streaming content spreads stories and emotions beyond borders.
Key programs include the Global OTT Awards, celebrating excellence in streaming content and platforms; an Investment Showcase facilitating overseas expansion for domestic OTT and content companies; an International Streaming Summit; OST concerts; and series screenings. Together, these events intend to strengthen the global competitiveness of Korean content and reflect the convergence of media, culture, and technology.
The festival is hosted by the Ministry of Science and ICT and Busan Metropolitan City. While the 2025 festival laid a solid foundation, KISF 2026 faces notable challenges such as combating illegal streaming, ensuring fair bidding and participation processes, consolidating its identity as an independent event beyond its previous association with the Busan International Film Festival, and achieving meaningful business outcomes from the investment showcase.
