NVP Healthcare (CEO Chang-gyu Lee) announced on March 5 that research elucidating the mechanism of action of its microbiome-based therapeutic pipeline, NVP-LC2767, has been published in Scientific Reports, a sister journal of Nature. NVP-LC2767 is developed from a microbial strain that has been recognized by the Korean Ministry of Food and Drug Safety as the first individual ingredient effective in simultaneously improving alcoholic and non-alcoholic fatty liver disease. This strain underlies the commercial product ‘Bicrom Liver Probiotic,’ currently available in South Korea.

The study revealed that inflammation and fibrosis, key pathological features of liver disease, are interconnected via regulation of gut-derived lipopolysaccharide (LPS) and the bile acid nuclear receptor Farnesoid X Receptor (FXR), forming a continuous pathogenic pathway. It proposed a novel therapeutic strategy termed ‘Fibroinflammation Dual Modulation’ to co-regulate these processes. NVP-LC2767 was shown to modulate the LPS and TLR4-NF-κB-TNF-α inflammatory signaling pathway and restore FXR function, leading to improvements in liver injury markers such as ALT, AST, and γ-GTP, along with reductions in fibrosis markers including α-SMA and collagen1.

Distinct from conventional single-target therapies, NVP-LC2767 employs an integrated microbiome-based approach that lowers intestinal LPS and restores FXR signaling to simultaneously alleviate inflammation and fibrosis. Enbi Healthcare is advancing global clinical development based on this technology, preparing to enter Phase 2 clinical trials with the U.S. FDA, focusing on metabolic dysfunction-associated steatohepatitis (MASH) as the primary indication.

Professor Donghyun Kim of Kyung Hee University College of Pharmacy, who led the study, emphasized the significance of elucidating the pathogenic flow linking gut endotoxins and FXR signaling to liver inflammation and fibrosis. He expressed optimism that clinical validation in Phase 2 trials will establish a new paradigm in liver disease treatment.

The core of this agreement is to jointly verify a model that links points within Dalcomsoft’s globally popular rhythm game IP to digital assets to expand the scope of point utilization. The three companies plan to explore concrete commercialization possibilities over the next two years through API integration and pilot projects.

The domestic points market holds approximately 5 trillion KRW in point liabilities, and unused points may burden corporate finances. Tikkly proposes a structure to enhance the usability of such idle points by connecting them with digital assets, aiming to improve the circulation system of points. SuhoIO is examining a technical structure that simultaneously expands user experience and improves operational efficiency of points.

This cooperation is notable as an application of the ‘PayFi’ concept—combining payment and finance functions—to the gaming industry. Through this, users can utilize game points beyond a simple consumption means, choosing various ways linked with digital assets.
