애써 만개한 벚꽃이 오늘 반갑지 않은 봄비에 꽃잎들이 모두 떨어지는구나...The cherry blossoms, which worked so hard to bloom, are having all their petals fall today due to the unwelcome spring rain...

 길가에 흐드러지게 핀 벚꽃을 보면 추운 겨울을 지나 봄이 왔다는 게 느껴진다.

그런데 저 꽃이 피자마자 오늘 마침 반갑지 않은 봄비에 꽃잎이 마치 비처럼 떨어져 버린다.

화무십일홍(花無十日紅)이라 했던가?

꽃이 아무리 예쁘도 십일은 가지 못하거늘...인생도 분명 그러하리라.

그럼에도 사람들은 각자의 대의와 명분으로 권력을 잡고 싶어 안달이다. 지방선거가 60여일 정도 남았기에 더욱 그러하게 보인다.

봄비 이야기가 나왔으니 하는 말인데...진작에 오시든지. 아니면 지금이라도 내일려면 제법 많은 양으로 내려 주시든지. 온 나라가 건조 가뭄에 걱정 아닌 걱정인데 말이다.

마지막으로 유권자와 시민으로서 이러한 현실을 정확히 보고 올바른 선택을 할 수 있도록 끊임없는 관심과 참여가 필요하다 할 것이다. 

Seeing the cherry blossoms blooming abundantly along the roadside, one feels that spring has come after the cold winter. However, just as the flowers bloom, today’s unwelcome spring rain causes the petals to fall like raindrops. Is it not said that “flowers do not last ten days” (花無十日紅)? No matter how beautiful the flowers are, they cannot last for ten days… Surely, life is the same.

Yet, people eagerly seek power under the banner of their own causes and justifications, especially with about 60 days left before the local elections. Since spring rain was mentioned, I wish it had come earlier, or if it is to rain now, let it fall in substantial amounts. The entire country is worried due to dry drought conditions.

Finally, as voters and citizens, it is essential to accurately perceive this reality and continuously engage in order to make the right choices.
