현대로템, 독일 ‘iF 디자인 어워드 2026’에서 수소전기동력차와 수소전기동차로 2관왕 달성 쾌거! Hyundai Rotem wins two awards at Germany's iF Design Award 2026 for its hydrogen-electric vehicle and hydrogen-electric electric vehicle!

 현대로템이 독일 ‘iF 디자인 어워드 2026’에서 수소전기동력차와 수소전기동차로 각각 본상을 수상하며 2관왕을 달성했다. iF 디자인 어워드는 세계 3대 디자인상 중 하나로, 전 세계 68개국에서 출품된 1만 개 이상의 프로젝트를 심사해 수상작을 선정한다.

현대로템은 지난해 수소전기트램으로 국내 철도 업계 최초로 iF 본상을 수상한 바 있으며, 이번에 수소전기동력차와 수소전기동차까지 본상을 받으며 K-철도의 글로벌 디자인 역량을 다시 한 번 입증했다.

수소전기동력차는 강인함과 역동성을, 수소전기동차는 편리한 접근성과 부드러운 디자인을 강조했다. 특히 두 차종에는 ‘H’ 형태의 측면 그래픽 디자인이 도입되어 현대로템과 수소를 상징하며 수소 모빌리티 확산에 대한 비전을 표현했다.

현대로템은 이번 수상을 철도 수소 모빌리티 분야의 디자인 경쟁력 강화와 혁신적 브랜드 확장의 결과로 보고, 앞으로도 지속 가능한 모빌리티 디자인을 선도해 나갈 계획이다.

Hyundai Rotem achieved a double victory by winning the main awards in both the hydrogen electric locomotive and hydrogen electric train categories at the German ‘iF Design Award 2026.’ The iF Design Award is one of the world’s top three design awards, selecting winners after rigorous evaluation of over 10,000 projects from 68 countries worldwide.

Following its historic win in 2023 as the first domestic railway company to receive an iF Design Award for its hydrogen electric tram, Hyundai Rotem has once again proven the global competitiveness of K-rail’s design capabilities by securing awards for both the hydrogen electric locomotive and hydrogen electric train this year.

The hydrogen electric locomotive emphasizes robustness and dynamism, while the hydrogen electric train highlights passenger accessibility and a soft design. Both models feature an ‘H’-shaped side graphic design symbolizing Hyundai Rotem and hydrogen, representing the vision for the expansion of hydrogen mobility.

Hyundai Rotem regards this recognition as a result of strengthening its design competitiveness and innovative brand expansion in the railway hydrogen mobility field, and plans to continue leading sustainable mobility design into the future.
