LG CNS, 국내 기업 최초로 미국 로봇 기업 ‘덱스메이트(Dexmate)’에 전략적 투자 단행! LG CNS becomes the first Korean company to make a strategic investment in the US robotics company Dexmate!

 LG CNS(대표 현신균)는 산업현장에 최적화된 휴머노이드 로봇 경쟁력 강화를 위해 미국 로봇기업 덱스메이트에 전략적 투자를 단행했습니다. 덱스메이트는 실리콘밸리에 위치한 휴머노이드 로봇 제작사로, 휠 기반 하체를 적용해 장시간 안정적 작업이 가능한 로봇을 개발했다.

이 로봇은 36개 이상의 자유도를 갖춘 정밀한 양손 협동 작업이 가능하며, 약 15kg 적재 하중을 지원하고 한 번 충전으로 20시간 이상 작동한다. 기존 이족보행 로봇보다 안정적이어서 물류센터, 제조공장 등 다양한 산업현장에 적합하다.

LG CNS는 이번 투자를 통해 휠타입 휴머노이드를 포함한 다양한 로봇 하드웨어 라인업을 갖추고, 하드웨어·로봇 파운데이션 모델(RFM)·운영·학습 플랫폼을 결합한 ‘풀스택 RX 서비스’를 제공할 계획이다.

또한 LG CNS는 자체 로봇 운영·학습 플랫폼 개발과 함께 미국 ‘스킬드 AI’와의 협력을 통해 산업 맞춤형 RFM 고도화를 추진 중이다. 물류 및 제조 현장 데이터를 학습한 로봇의 개념검증 프로젝트를 진행하며 실제 업무능력을 검증하고 있다.

LG CNS (CEO Hyun Shin-kyun) has made a strategic investment in the U.S. robotics company Dexmate to enhance its competitiveness in humanoid robot hardware optimized for industrial sites. Dexmate, based in Silicon Valley, develops humanoid robots featuring wheel-based lower bodies that enable stable operation over extended periods.

These robots have more than 36 degrees of freedom, allowing precise bimanual cooperative tasks, support a load capacity of approximately 15 kg, and can operate for over 20 hours on a single charge. Their stable lower body design makes them more suitable than bipedal humanoid robots for various industrial settings such as logistics centers and manufacturing plants.

Through this investment, LG CNS has expanded its robotic hardware lineup to include wheel-type humanoid robots. The company plans to offer a ‘Full-Stack RX Service’ that integrates hardware, Robot Foundation Model (RFM), and operation/learning platforms as a comprehensive package.

Additionally, LG CNS is developing its own robot operation and learning platform and is advancing industry-customized RFM in partnership with U.S.-based Skilled AI. They are conducting proof-of-concept projects where robots trained on logistics and manufacturing data demonstrate their practical work capabilities.
