서울의 글로벌 국제 교류 거점 시립하이서울유스호스텔, 국내외 청소년 국제 교류 프로그램 ‘OPEN 문화교류’ 성료! Seoul’s Global International Exchange Hub, Hi Seoul Youth Hostel, Successfully Concludes ‘OPEN Cultural Exchange,’ an International Exchange Program for Domestic and International Youth!

 서울특별시가 설립하고 한국청소년연맹이 위탁 운영하는 시립하이서울유스호스텔은 3월 14일 청소년 국제 교류 프로그램 ‘OPEN 문화교류’ 1회차 활동을 성공적으로 마쳤다. 이번 프로그램에는 일본 치바대학교 교육학부 대학생들과 국내 대학생들이 참여해 서울의 문화와 일상을 체험했다. 특히, 대학생 통역 봉사단 ‘유스굿윌가이드(YGG)’가 코스 기획과 안내를 맡아 교류의 진정성을 높였다.

참가자들은 홍대 ‘걷고 싶은 거리’에서 버스킹 공연을 즐기고, 성수동 복합문화공간을 방문해 최신 패션과 뷰티 문화를 체험했다. 일본 참가자 야마모토 소지는 이번 경험을 소중한 추억으로 꼽았다. YGG 함혜빈 회장은 민간 외교관으로서 K-컬처를 알리는 데 큰 보람을 느꼈다고 밝혔다.

시립하이서울유스호스텔은 올해 개관 15주년을 맞아 15년간 서울의 국제 교류 거점으로 자리매김했으며, 15주년 기념 이벤트에 참가자들이 함께해 뜻 깊은 시간을 보냈다. 홍승현 본부장은 앞으로도 글로벌 인재 양성을 위해 국제 교류 프로그램을 지속 발전시키겠다고 말했다.

The Seoul Metropolitan Government established and the Korea Youth Federation (President Kim Hyun-jip) entrusted the operation of the Seoul City Hi Seoul Youth Hostel successfully concluded the first round of the youth international exchange program ‘OPEN Cultural Exchange’ on March 14. This program involved university students from the Education Department of Chiba University in Japan and domestic university students, who experienced Seoul’s vibrant culture and daily life firsthand. Notably, the university student interpreter volunteer group ‘Youth Goodwill Guide (YGG)’ planned the course and provided on-site guidance, adding authenticity to the exchange.

Participants enjoyed lively busking performances at Hongdae’s ‘Walking Street’ and explored the representative complex cultural space in Seongsu-dong, a recent hotspot of K-culture, experiencing the latest fashion and beauty trends. Japanese participant Soji Yamamoto (20) regarded this journey with Korean university students across Seoul as a cherished lifelong memory. YGG President Haem Hye-bin (21, Kookmin University) expressed great satisfaction in acting as a private diplomat, introducing Korean culture to the Japanese youth.

Marking its 15th anniversary this year, the Seoul City Hi Seoul Youth Hostel has solidified its role as a hub for international exchange representing Seoul for 15 years. Participants also joined the 15th-anniversary commemorative event, sharing the institution’s history and celebrating global friendships. Hong Seung-hyun, head of the hostel, emphasized the hope that this exchange would serve as a valuable opportunity for mutual understanding and growth between youth of both countries and pledged to continue enhancing international exchange programs for global talent development.
