현대자동차그룹은 소방청과 협력해 개발한 차세대 무인소방로봇 기술을 소개하는 영상 ‘A Safer Way Home’을 3월 3일 공개했다. 이 영상은 화재 현장의 위험을 신속하게 대응해 인명 피해를 최소화하고 소방관의 안전을 지키고자 하는 의지를 담았다. 사람이 진입하기 어려운 극한 환경에 무인로봇이 투입돼 보다 안전하고 효율적인 화재 진압을 구현하는 모습이 담겼다.
무인소방로봇은 현대자동차, 기아, 현대로템, 현대모비스, 소방청이 공동 개발한 첨단 화재 대응 솔루션으로, 화재 현장의 고온, 폭발, 유독가스 등 위험을 견디며 원격으로 화재를 진압한다. 자율주행 보조 시스템, AI 시야 개선 카메라, 고압 축광 릴호스, 6X6 인휠모터 시스템 등 첨단 기술이 적용돼 현장 적응성과 안정성을 높였다. 특히 500~800℃ 고열 환경에서도 자체 분무 시스템으로 장비를 보호하며 임무를 수행한다.
고압 축광 릴호스는 어두운 재난 현장에서 스스로 빛을 내 출입 경로 확보에 도움을 주고, 6X6 인휠모터 시스템은 협소한 공간에서 뛰어난 기동성을 발휘한다. 무인로봇은 화재 진압뿐 아니라 다양한 데이터를 수집해 머신러닝 기반 재난 대응 플랫폼으로 발전할 계획이다.
현대자동차그룹은 앞으로도 소방관 등 제복 의 영웅들의 안전을 위한 기술 개발과 지원을 계속해 나갈 방침이다. 이번 영상은 부상 군인 재활 로봇, 소방관 회복 지원 수소전기버스, 독립유공자 사료 전산화 등과 함께 제복 입은 영웅들을 위한 기술적 지원의 일환이다.

The unmanned firefighting robot is an advanced fire response solution jointly developed by Hyundai Motor Company, Kia, Hyundai Rotem, Hyundai Mobis, and the Korea National Fire Agency. It withstands high temperatures, explosions, and toxic gases at fire scenes and remotely extinguishes fires. Cutting-edge technologies such as an autonomous driving assist system, AI vision enhancement cameras, high-pressure phosphorescent reel hoses, and a 6X6 in-wheel motor system are applied to enhance operational adaptability and stability on site. Notably, it performs its tasks safely even in high-temperature environments ranging from 500 to 800℃ using its own spraying system that protects the equipment.
The high-pressure phosphorescent reel hose emits its own light in dark disaster scenes, helping secure access routes, while the 6X6 in-wheel motor system provides excellent maneuverability in confined spaces. Beyond fire suppression, the robot collects various data to evolve into a machine learning-based disaster response platform.
Hyundai Motor Group plans to continue its technological development and support to protect the safety of uniformed heroes such as firefighters. This video is part of broader technical support efforts that also include rehabilitation robots for injured soldiers, hydrogen fuel cell buses supporting firefighter recovery, and digitalization of historical records for independence activists.
