삼성바이오에피스, 산도즈(Sandoz)와 차세대 바이오시밀러 후보물질 최대 5종 개발을 위한 파트너십 계약 체결! Samsung Bioepis Enters into Partnership Agreement with Sandoz for Up to Five Next-Generation Biosimilar Candidates

 삼성바이오에피스㈜가 2026년 3월 19일, 글로벌 제약사 Sandoz와 최대 5개 바이오시밀러 후보 물질에 대한 글로벌 라이선스·개발·상업화 계약(DCA)을 체결했다.

이번 계약에는 염증성 장질환 치료제 Entyvio를 기반으로 한 바이오시밀러 후보 ‘SB36’이 포함됐으며, 계약의 구체적인 조건은 공개되지 않았다.

협약에 따라 삼성바이오에피스는 후보 물질의 개발, 주요 시장 인허가 및 생산을 담당하고, Sandoz는 한국·중국·홍콩·대만·마카오를 제외한 글로벌 시장에서 상업화를 맡는다.

SB36은 현재 전임상 단계에 있으며, 크론병·궤양성 대장염·파우치염 치료를 목표로 개발 중이다.

이번 계약은 양사가 2023년 체결한 PYZCHIVA 파트너십을 확대한 것으로, 해당 제품은 2024년 유럽, 2025년 미국에서 출시된 바 있다. 또한 2025년에는 EPYSQLI의 중동·아프리카 상업화 계약도 체결됐다.

삼성바이오에피스는 이번 협력을 통해 글로벌 바이오시밀러 공급을 확대하고, 환자들의 치료 접근성을 높인다는 계획이다.

Samsung Bioepis Co., Ltd. announced on March 19, 2026, that it has entered into a global license, development, and commercialization agreement (DCA) with global pharmaceutical company Sandoz for up to five biosimilar candidates under development.

The agreement includes SB36, a biosimilar candidate referencing Entyvio, a treatment for inflammatory bowel disease. Specific terms of the contract remain undisclosed.

Under the agreement, Samsung Bioepis will be responsible for the development, regulatory approval in key markets, and manufacturing of these candidates, while Sandoz will handle commercialization globally except in South Korea, China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, and Macau.

Currently in the preclinical stage, SB36 is being developed to treat Crohn’s disease, ulcerative colitis, and pouchitis.

This agreement expands the partnership formed in 2023 for PYZCHIVA, which was launched in Europe in 2024 and in the United States in 2025. Additionally, in 2025, the companies signed a commercialization agreement for EPYSQLI in the Middle East and Africa.

Through this collaboration, Samsung Bioepis aims to broaden the global supply of biosimilars and improve patient access to treatments.
