산청군, 2026 생초 꽃잔디 축제 개최 예정! Sancheong County to Host 2026 Saengcho Flower Moss Festival

 경상남도 산청군이 오는 4월 10일부터 19일까지 10일간 생초국제조각공원 일원에서 ‘2026 산청 생초꽃잔디축제’를 개최한다.

산청군은 이번 축제를 통해 지역의 대표 봄꽃 명소를 널리 알리고, 자연과 예술이 어우러진 관광 콘텐츠를 선보일 계획이라고 밝혔다.

‘산청, 봄이 피어나는 찰나’를 슬로건으로 내건 이번 축제는 약 33,000㎡ 규모의 공원을 분홍빛 꽃잔디로 물들여 방문객들에게 장관을 선사한다. 공원 전역에 펼쳐진 꽃잔디 카펫은 마치 꽃 위를 걷는 듯한 특별한 체험을 제공하며, 축구공 모양으로 조성된 이색 꽃잔디 포인트도 눈길을 끈다.

전시 프로그램도 다채롭게 마련됐다. 산청박물관에서는 국립현대미술관 소장품전을 포함한 기획전시가 열리며, 목조각장전수관에서는 목조각장 박천수 작가의 상설 전시가 진행된다.

개막식은 4월 10일 오전 10시 목조각장전수관에서 개최되며, 축제의 시작을 알리는 다양한 행사들이 펼쳐질 예정이다.

체험 프로그램 역시 풍성하다. 산청박물관에서는 주말 오후 2시부터 4시까지 ‘비움(空) 속 나만의 작품 만들기’ 미술체험이 선착순 무료로 운영되며, 목조각장전수관에서는 매일 오전 10시부터 12시까지 ‘목조각장 노프 만들기’ 체험이 진행된다.

주말에는 공연 프로그램도 이어진다. 4월 11일과 12일, 18일과 19일 오후 1시부터 4시까지 축제장 중앙광장에서 버스킹 공연과 풍선 마술쇼가 열려 방문객들에게 즐거움을 선사한다.

이와 함께 축제장 입구에는 농산물 판매장터가 마련돼 지역 농특산물을 직접 체험하고 구매할 수 있는 기회를 제공한다.

산청군 관계자는 “이번 생초꽃잔디축제는 고대 가야 고분군과 현대 조각 작품이 조화를 이루는 공간에서 열려 더욱 특별한 의미를 갖는다”며 “축제 기간 동안 꽃잔디가 절정을 이루는 만큼 많은 방문객들이 산청에서 봄의 아름다움을 만끽하시길 바란다”고 말했다.

Sancheong County in Gyeongsangnam-do will hold the “2026 Sancheong Saengcho Flower Moss Festival” for 10 days from April 10 (Friday) through April 19 (Sunday), 2026, at the Saengcho International Sculpture Park.

Under the slogan “Sancheong, the Moment When Spring Blooms,” the festival will blanket the 33,000㎡ park with a magnificent pink carpet of flowering moss, offering visitors a breathtaking and immersive experience. The extensive flower moss coverage throughout the park creates a sensation of walking atop flowers, highlighted by a unique soccer ball-shaped moss art installation.

The festival features a diverse exhibition program. The Sancheong Museum will host special exhibitions including works from the National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art, while the Wood Carving Master Hall presents a permanent exhibition of Master Carpenter Park Cheon-su’s works.

An official opening ceremony will take place at 10:00 AM on April 10 at the Wood Carving Master Hall, complemented by a variety of kickoff events throughout the festival.

Interactive experience programs enrich the festival offerings. On weekends from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM, the museum will conduct a free, first-come-first-served art workshop titled “Creating My Own Work within Emptiness (空).” The Wood Carving Master Hall also hosts daily knot-making woodcraft sessions from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM.

Live weekend performances at the festival’s central plaza occur from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM on April 11, 12, 18, and 19, featuring busking and balloon magic shows that entertain guests of all ages.

In addition, the festival entrance includes a market where visitors can experience and purchase locally grown agricultural specialty products.

A Sancheong County official stated, “This flower moss festival is uniquely situated where ancient Gaya tumuli and contemporary sculptures coexist, making it a meaningful and special event. With the flowering moss reaching full bloom during the festival period, we warmly invite many visitors to enjoy the spring beauty that Sancheong offers.”
