아이오닉 6 N이 ‘세계 올해의 고성능 자동차(World Performance Car)’로 선정 The IONIQ 6 N has been named the ‘World Performance Car of the Year’.

 현대자동차(대표이사 호세 무뇨스)는 2026년 5월 1일 열린 ‘뉴욕 국제 오토쇼’에서 발표된 ‘2026 월드카 어워즈’에서 아이오닉 6 N이 ‘세계 올해의 고성능 자동차(World Performance Car)’로 선정되었다고 밝혔다.

아이오닉 6 N은 BMW M2 CS, 쉐보레 콜벳 E-Ray 등을 제치고 세계 최고의 고성능 자동차로 인정받았다. 현대차 호세 무뇨스 사장은 이번 수상이 차량 개발에 참여한 모든 임직원의 노력에 대한 큰 영예라며, 전 세계 심사위원과 고객들에게 깊은 감사를 표했다.

이번 수상은 현대차가 개발한 전기차 전용 플랫폼 ‘E-GMP(Electric-Global Modular Platform)’ 기반의 고성능 전기차 상품 경쟁력을 다시 한 번 입증하는 결과다.

아이오닉 6 N은 전·후륜 모터를 통해 합산 최고 출력 448kW(609마력), 최대 토크 740Nm(75.5kgf·m)를 발휘하며, ‘N 그린 부스트’ 기능 사용 시 최고 출력 478kW(650마력), 최대 토크 770Nm(78.5kgf·m)의 강력한 성능을 보여준다.

또한 차세대 서스펜션 지오메트리와 스트로크 감응형 전자제어 서스펜션(ECS) 댐퍼, 전륜 ‘하이드로 G부싱’, 후륜 ‘듀얼 레이어 부싱’ 등 첨단 고성능 전동화 사양이 적용되었으며, N e-쉬프트, N 앰비언트 쉬프트 라이트, N 액티브 사운드 플러스, N 드리프트 옵티마이저, N 트랙 매니저, N 레이스 캠 등 다양한 기능이 운전의 즐거움과 짜릿한 주행 감성을 제공한다.

Hyundai Motor Company (CEO José Muñoz) announced that the Ioniq 6 N was named the 'World Performance Car' at the 2026 World Car Awards held on May 1st during the New York International Auto Show.

The Ioniq 6 N outperformed competitors including the BMW M2 CS and Chevrolet Corvette E-Ray to earn the title of the world’s best high-performance vehicle. CEO José Muñoz expressed that the award is a meaningful honor for all Hyundai employees involved in the vehicle’s development and extended sincere gratitude to the judging panel and customers worldwide.

This accolade further validates Hyundai’s competitiveness in high-performance electric vehicles built on its dedicated EV platform, the Electric-Global Modular Platform (E-GMP).

The Ioniq 6 N features front and rear motors producing a combined maximum output of 448 kW (609 horsepower) and a maximum torque of 740 Nm (75.5 kgf·m). Utilizing the ‘N Green Boost’ function, the vehicle boosts output to 478 kW (650 horsepower) and torque to 770 Nm (78.5 kgf·m) for even more powerful performance.

Advanced high-performance electrification specifications include next-generation suspension geometry, stroke-sensitive electronic controlled suspension (ECS) dampers, front Hydro G bushings, and rear dual-layer bushings. Additionally, features such as N e-Shift, N Ambient Shift Light, N Active Sound Plus, N Drift Optimizer, N Track Manager, and N Race Cam combine to deliver an exhilarating and pleasurable driving experience.
