 몰입형 게임 및 창작 플랫폼 로블록스(Roblox)는 3월 31일(미국 현지시간) 아바타 메이크업 기능을 새롭게 도입했다. 이 기능은 아바타 에디터와 마켓플레이스 내 메이크업 적용 섹션을 통해 사용자들이 자신만의 뷰티 룩을 자유롭게 연출할 수 있게 한다.

로블록스가 공개한 데이터에 따르면, 사용자 중 81%가 아바타 메이크업이 디지털 세계에서 자신의 정체성을 표현하는 중요한 요소라고 답했으며, 85%는 메이크업 기능 도입이 로블록스 내 활동 흥미를 높여준다고 응답했다.

이번 업데이트는 오프라인 뷰티 브랜드와 디지털 메이크업 아티스트들에게도 새로운 크리에이터 경제 기회를 제공한다. 지난해 로블록스는 크리에이터에게 약 15억 달러를 지급했으며, 이제 메이크업 아티스트들도 이에 참여할 수 있게 되었다.

Roblox introduced a new avatar makeup feature on March 31st (U.S. local time). This feature allows users to freely create their own beauty looks through the avatar editor and a new makeup application section within the marketplace.

According to data released by Roblox, 81% of users consider avatar makeup an important means of expressing their identity in the digital world, and 85% responded that the introduction of this makeup feature increases their interest in activities within Roblox.

This update also opens new creator economy opportunities for offline beauty brands and digital makeup artists. Last year, Roblox paid approximately 1.5 billion USD to creators, and now makeup artists can participate in these earnings as well.
