지씨셀, CAR-T 치료제 ‘푸카소’ 국내 품목허가 신청

 지씨셀(대표 김재왕·원성용)은 중국 난징 이아소 바이오 테크놀로지로부터 도입한 다발성골수종 치료용 CAR-T 치료제 ‘푸카소(Fucaso, 성분명 Equecabtagene Autoleucel)’의 국내 품목허가를 식품의약품안전처에 신청했다고 2월 27일 밝혔다.

푸카소는 BCMA를 표적으로 하는 CAR-T 세포치료제로, 2023년 6월 중국에서 품목허가를 받아 다발성골수종 4차 치료제로 사용 중이다. 완전 인간 항체 적용으로 면역원성을 낮추고, 부작용 발생률도 상대적으로 적으며, 경쟁력 있는 가격 구조로 치료 접근성 개선이 기대된다.

지씨셀은 간암 면역세포치료제 ‘이뮨셀엘씨주’ 상용화 경험과 GMP 기반 생산부터 유통까지 전주기 밸류체인을 구축해 CAR-T 치료제 국내 도입 및 시장 안착을 신속히 추진할 계획이다.

푸카소는 2025년 7월 희귀의약품, 8월에는 신속 처리 대상 첨단바이오의약품으로 식품의약품안전처로부터 지정받았다.

원성용 대표는 “세포치료제 상업화 경험과 의약품 공급망 운영 능력을 바탕으로 푸카소의 허가 및 시장 안착에 최선을 다하겠다”며, “환자들이 합리적인 비용으로 치료받을 수 있도록 접근성 확대에 힘쓰겠다”고 말했다.

GC Cell Co., Ltd. (CEOs Kim Jae-wang and Won Sung-yong) announced on February 27, 2026, that it has submitted a domestic marketing authorization application to the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety for ‘Fucaso’ (generic name: Equecabtagene Autoleucel), a CAR-T cell therapy for treating multiple myeloma introduced from Nanjing IASO Biotechnology in China.

Fucaso is a BCMA-targeting CAR-T therapy that received marketing approval in China in June 2023 and is currently used as a fourth-line treatment for multiple myeloma. It features a fully human antibody to reduce immunogenicity, demonstrates relatively low incidence of adverse effects, and offers a competitively priced structure expected to improve treatment accessibility.

GC Cell, with prior commercialization experience of the immunotherapy drug ‘ImmunCell LC Injection’ for liver cancer, has established a GMP-based end-to-end value chain from manufacturing to distribution. Leveraging this capability, the company plans to expedite the introduction and market establishment of CAR-T therapies in Korea.

Fucaso was designated as an orphan drug by the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety in July 2025, and in August of the same year, it was granted a fast-track status as an advanced biopharmaceutical.

CEO Won Sung-yong stated, “Based on our accumulated commercialization experience in cell therapies and pharmaceutical supply chain management, we will diligently pursue the approval and market stabilization of Fucaso,” and added, “We are committed to expanding treatment accessibility so that patients can receive care at reasonable costs.”
