The first 3-cushion World Cup of 2026, the ‘Bogotá World 3-Cushion Billiards World Cup,’ is being held from April 6th (Monday) to April 12th (Sunday) in Bogotá, Colombia. Set at a high altitude of approximately 2,600 meters, this tournament is hosted and organized by the World Union Mondial de Billard (UMB).
A total of nine Korean players, including the world number one Cho Myung-woo (Seoul City Hall), are competing for the championship. Cho Myung-woo has been seeded directly into the final 32 main draw. Other Korean participants include Heo Jeong-han, Cha Myeong-jong, Hwang Bong-joo, Kang Ja-in, Choi Wan-young, Kim Do-hyun, Kim Min-seok, and Kwon Mi-ru. However, Kim Haeng-jik will not participate due to a schedule conflict with the Jeonnam Provincial Sports Festival.
The round of 32 group stage begins on Saturday, April 11th, with eight groups of four players each. The top two players from each group will advance to the round of 16. Cho Myung-woo will compete in Group A against players including William Villanueva of Venezuela.
All matches of the tournament are broadcast live via the SOOP (AfreecaTV) platform, and major matches are also televised on cable channels such as SOOP TV, IB Sports, and BallTV.
Additionally, the event highlights the advanced strategic skill of “cluster shots” in four-cushion billiards, featuring 12 essential techniques such as maintaining a tight gap between two object balls, the drag shot, corner positioning, and speed control, enhancing the depth of cue sports mastery.
We encourage all billiards fans and supporters to follow the captivating competition and skillful play throughout this prestigious event.
