그랜드오페라단이 창단 30주년을 맞아 대한민국 대표 창작오페라 ‘봄봄’과 전통연희 ‘아리랑 난장’을 선보입니다. 이번 공연은 오는 6월 25일과 26일, 부산 금정문화회관에서 개최되며 지역 문화예술계의 큰 관심을 받고 있습니다.

대한민국 대표 창작오페라 ‘봄봄’

오페라 ‘봄봄’은 소설가 김유정의 대표작 동명 소설 ‘봄봄’을 원작으로 한 작품입니다. 원작 특유의 해학과 익살을 살리면서 한국 전통 놀이판 형식과 서양 오페라를 조화롭게 결합한 것이 특징입니다.

2010년 부산 초연 이후 국내외에서 100회 이상 공연되며 대한민국에서 가장 많이 상연된 창작오페라 중 하나로 평가받고 있습니다.

The Grand Opera Company, led by Director An Ji-hwan, will celebrate its 30th anniversary with a two-day performance on June 25 and 26 at the Geumjeong Cultural Center. The program features the pride of Korean contemporary opera, Lee Geonyong’s “Spring Spring,” alongside the traditional performance “Arirang Nanjang.”

The original opera “Spring Spring” masterfully adapts Kim Yu-jeong’s novella of the same name, blending exquisite language and dramatic structure with traditional Korean folk performance forms and Western operatic techniques. Showcasing the unique humor and wit of the Korean people, this work has become a hallmark of Korean opera aesthetics. Since its premiere by the Grand Opera Company in Busan in 2010, it has been performed over 100 times both domestically and abroad, establishing itself as the most frequently staged contemporary Korean opera.

The production will feature Korea’s top vocalists, including baritone Park Jung-min as Oh Young-gam, tenor Jeon Byung-ho as Gil-bo, soprano Han Kyung-sung as Soon-yi, and mezzo-soprano Kim Hyang-eun as Ahn Sung-daek. The cast promises to deliver finely honed performances built over years of collaboration. Complementing the opera is the spirited traditional performance “Arirang Nanjang” by the troupe Kkokduswi, offering audiences the essence of a communal, vibrant folk festivity.
