화웨이-LG전자-노키아, 시스벨의 신규 포스 특허풀의 창립 라이선서로 참여! Huawei, LG Electronics, and Nokia Join as Founding Licensors of Sysvel's New Force Patent Pool

 글로벌 혁신 기업 화웨이, LG전자, 노키아가 시스벨(Sisvel)이 론칭한 2G부터 5G까지 아우르는 POS(Point of Sale) 특허 풀의 창립 라이선서로 참여했다.

이번 프로그램을 통해 세 기업은 셀룰러 연결 POS 기기에 적용되는 표준필수특허(SEP)를 제공하며, 점차 보편화되는 이 기술에 대한 접근성을 높였다. 라이선서 조기 참여 혜택은 오는 5월 중순까지 제공된다.

POS 기기는 휴대용 카드 단말기에서 태블릿 기반 계산기까지 다양한 형태로, 고객 결제 처리 방식을 혁신함과 동시에 재고 관리, 실시간 추적, 고급 분석 및 자동 재주문 등의 기능을 확대하며 업계를 선도하고 있다.

시스벨 POS 프로그램은 구현자가 공정하고 합리적이며 비차별적인(FRAND) 조건으로 관련 SEP에 접근할 수 있도록 효율적이고 투명한 방식을 제공한다. 시스벨은 현재 추가 참여를 희망하는 통신표준 특허권자들의 문의를 기다리고 있다.

Global innovation leaders Huawei, LG Electronics, and Nokia have become founding licensees of Sisvel’s newly launched POS (Point of Sale) patent pool, encompassing technologies from 2G through 5G.

Through this program, the three companies provide their Standard Essential Patents (SEPs) applicable to cellular-connected POS devices, facilitating broader access to this increasingly prevalent technology. Early participation benefits for licensors are available until mid-May.

POS devices, ranging from portable card terminals to tablet-based calculators, have revolutionized customer payment processing while expanding capabilities such as inventory management, real-time tracking, advanced analytics, and automated reordering—leading the industry in functionality.

Sisvel’s POS program offers an efficient and transparent mechanism for implementers to access relevant SEPs under fair, reasonable, and non-discriminatory (FRAND) terms. Sisvel is currently inviting inquiries from other telecommunications standards patent holders interested in joining the patent pool.
