에너지 효율적인 OLED 기술과 소재 분야의 글로벌 선도 기업인 유니버설 디스플레이 코퍼레이션(Universal Display Corporation, UDC, Nasdaq: OLED)은 LG디스플레이(LG Display Co., Ltd.)와 체결한 장기 OLED 소재 공급 및 라이선스 계약을 연장했다고 2월 27일 밝혔다.
20년 이상 이어진 성공적인 협력을 기반으로 한 이번 계약 연장은 OLED 혁신 가속화와 차세대 디스플레이 응용 분야의 전 세계적 확대라는 양사의 공동 비전을 재확인하는 의미를 가진다. UDC는 자회사인 UDC 아일랜드 리미티드(UDC Ireland Limited)를 통해 업계 선도적인 UniversalPHOLED® 소재와 OLED 기술을 계속 공급하며 LG디스플레이의 첨단 OLED 제품 개발을 지원할 예정이다.
계약의 세부 내용 및 재무 조건은 공개되지 않았다. 이번 협력 연장은 양사의 지속적인 파트너십 강화와 OLED 산업 발전에 기여하는 중요한 이정표로 평가된다.
