CJ ENM은 오는 11월 20일부터 21일까지 일본 교세라 돔 오사카에서 글로벌 K-팝 시상식인 ‘2026 마마 어워즈(MAMA AWARDS)’를 개최한다고 31일 공식 발표했습니다. 교세라 돔 오사카에서 마마 어워즈가 열리는 것은 2022년과 2024년에 이어 이번이 세 번째입니다.
마마 어워즈는 1999년 엠넷 영상음악대상으로 시작해 대한민국 음악 산업과 함께 성장해온 권위 있는 시상식으로, 2009년 아시아 각국 간 문화 교류와 K-팝의 세계 진출을 선언하며 Mnet ASIAN MUSIC AWARDS(MAMA)로 명칭을 바꿨습니다. 2022년에는 글로벌 음악 시장 변화에 맞추어 ‘MAMA AWARDS’로 리브랜딩되었습니다.
이번 행사는 엠넷플러스(Mnet Plus)를 통해 전 세계에 생중계되며, 온오프라인을 넘나드는 다양한 이벤트로 글로벌 팬덤과 소통할 예정입니다. 특히 2022년에 신설된 ‘MAMA PLATINUM’ 특별 대상은 올해의 가수상, 노래상, 앨범상과 Worldwide Icon Of The Year 4개 부문 대상을 모두 수상한 아티스트에게 수여되며, 첫 수상자는 방탄소년단입니다.
‘2026 마마 어워즈’는 K-팝의 글로벌 위상을 다시 한번 확인하고 확장하는 중요한 무대가 될 것입니다.
CJ ENM announced on the 31st that the global K-pop awards ceremony, the "2026 MAMA AWARDS," will be held at the Kyocera Dome Osaka in Japan from November 20 to 21. This marks the third time the MAMA Awards will take place at the Kyocera Dome Osaka, following events in 2022 and 2024.
The MAMA Awards originated in 1999 as the Mnet Video Music Awards and have grown alongside South Korea’s music industry. In 2009, to reflect cultural exchange across Asia and the global expansion of K-pop, the ceremony was renamed Mnet ASIAN MUSIC AWARDS (MAMA). In 2022, it was rebranded simply as "MAMA AWARDS" to align with changes in the global music market.
The event will be broadcast live worldwide through Mnet Plus, featuring various online and offline events designed to engage global fandoms. Since 2022, the “MAMA PLATINUM” special award has been presented to artists who win all four grand prizes: Artist of the Year, Song of the Year, Album of the Year, and Worldwide Icon of the Year. BTS was the first recipient of this distinguished honor.
The "2026 MAMA AWARDS" will serve as a significant stage to reaffirm and expand K-pop’s global prestige.
